There are tons of different tables these days, so many in fact that selecting one is a real challenge.

First of all, transparent glass is awesome at creating the illusion of space and making a room appear larger and more airy than it actually is. So, for example, if the kitchen and the dining room are one and the same space, a glass top would definitely help.

Also, a dining table with a glass top is quite versatile so you can include it in a variety of different interior decors. Glass tops look great in vintage and traditional homes but also in modern and contemporary spaces.

A glass top can be added to an old table, to a vintage sewing machine, to a wooden trunk, a barrel and all sorts of other things and you can turn your table into a great project.
The glass top can also be added in order to protect the wooden table underneath. You can add it to an existing dining table, coffee table or any other kind of tables, in addition, you can make your own table from an old door, a crate or a pallet and simply put a glass top.
The glass top is also really great if you want to get a table with a really interesting-looking base. The transparent glass allows you to draw attention to the base and, instead of hiding it, it will make it stand out.
Tables that have glass tops make maintenance really easy. You can easily wipe it clean and don’t have to worry about food or wine staining the table.
Another nice thing about tables that have transparent glass tops is that they allow you to highlight a beautiful area rug.

Laminated glass is considered a safety glass and is primarily used because of its safety, security and sound abatement characteristics.
Laminated glass is particularly suitable where it is useful to maintain the structural integrity of the piece in question after breakage.

Laminated glass is used in a variety of situations such as store fronts, balconies, skylights, and automotive glass. Here in Glass table top okc we can custom cut laminated glass and use it for any situation deemed necessary. Do you need a glass table top but are worried about kids breaking the glass or worse yet cutting themselves? Maybe laminated glass is the answer to your problem.

The interlayer keeps the layers of glass bonded even when broken, and its high strength prevents the glass from breaking up into large sharp pieces. Why Glass Table Tops?
• Protect your furniture from nicks, scratches, and other possible damage.
• Refresh older pieces with a less permanent option, as compared to stains or painted glass.
• Glass is beautiful; glass top is an excellent way to add shine to an otherwise dull item.
• Elevate the impact of wood tables or dressers while protecting these investments from scratches, glass rings, sun damage and scuffs.
• Order a tabletop to complete a table, nightstand or even a plant stand.
• Renew old glass table inserts with a glass table replacement; outdoor tables are especially vulnerable to damage and weathering.

Recommended glass thickness:
1/4" is the preferred thickness. 3/8" or 1/2"can be used for effect but make sure that the furniture can carry the weight.
Recommended edge: flat polish is the preferred edge work. However, pencil polish or beveled polish can be used to give accent or a dramatic effect.

Annealed glass is sufficient to protect the table but glass can always be tempered for added safety, especially if there are younger kids in the house.
Glass table tops can also be used in situations where the entire surface is made out of glass The legs can also be made of glass, wood, metal, or any other material. In these instances, the glass has to be tempered for safety reasons. Thickness should be at least 3/8" and edges have to be flat polished and possibly beveled, depending on preference.
